    Its the same way you would upload a regular one. Browse for your .gif and choose it. Maybe the .gif size was too big for MS regulation.

    It's because of the very small file size limit for avatars...
    Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 125.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
    The image I made had 10 frames at 150*150 and was 121.04 KB...

    Kinda prompted me to offer my services of gif creation lol =P
