Is Claymore Really Good?

Patrons of the manga Claymore, please help me out. I find myself picking up only to drop the first volume many many times (Which I’ve done with One Piece, later turning out to be my favorite). I don’t really start a new manga series unless my sister recommends it- unfortunately she doesn’t read Claymore so she didn’t have much offer for this..

Out of 10 what would you give this manga? Is it really worth reading? Thanks!
