    If i remember correctly Saulo did say that the D stands for somekind of family/clan name.

    Aye. He had no idea what D. stands for when inquired by Robin. However he did state that D. was passed down through the family. Perhaps that is made more obvious when Luffy's family tree shows up.

    I'm actually shocked that the individual who created this topic wasn't burnt to a crisp in a fictional way by others.

    I've been there before under the username of the_green_samurai_ranger. I just don't see a point in logging back into my previous account or creating a new one under my new alias. I get all the spoilers for new chapter and extra information off of this website.

    I bet at this current time, only Monkey D. Dragon and possibly Monkey D. Garp know what the D. means. It could explain there powers as well as there legendary status. If thats the case, maybe its the reason Gol D. Roger was so famous and powerful.

    There was a family, then it split in some branchs and now they were finally Gold, Portgas and Monkey. And the Monkey is which we know more about, so I think Luffy is really connected with Portgas or Gold, like they're someway cousins, uncles, something like that. It's like there was the D. family with 3 or 4 brothers and they then had their own sons and grandsons... but kept the "D" always.

    Well, the idea of those brothers (or sisters) is what I think about all the D. stuff... :p
