To me, the mum was pretty normal.
I mean, the girl did a very stupid thing for an 18 year old. She goes out for hours to meet some random guy off the internet and doesn't even let her mum know she was going out, let alone where she was or what time she'd be home- what did she expect would happen?

I dunno.
I guess it's because I've had to deal with a lot of worse crap from my mum (back when I lived with her, she'd be on drugs a lot of the time) so I guess you know, being grounded, or yelled at, that sort of thing seems normal and tame to me. Maybe to other people it seems pretty extreme?
Anyway, that's off topic.

I don't see the humor in this.....

It only describes typical American teenage d*ck who doesn't have anything els to fill his time with but to harass his sister, and the mom seems to show little understandability. Didn't show single hint that suggest they have an idea of how serious the subject their arguing about is.
