One looks good, but after taking just a quick look I think I may have to use a series besides what I was originally going to do. Seinen looks like it has too much details already and it would take someone with experience to deal with.

On the other hand looking at shounen like naruto, it seems the lack of details gives you a bit of a more "blank canvas" and you can work with it easier.

Am I right?

Hnnn...perhaps, but it all depends on the panel you choose to colour. If you're gonna colour something like this:

...you're looking at a lot of details and this is shonen.

I agree though that there are some shonens with a more blank canvas and not much details....like the FMA one I did for the submission, and I think it helps to start off with something not too complicated. That Doubt one looks like a good place to start. Oh...I plan to tackle that Reborn I posted -_-'

Details depends on your style, you could do a seinen and not putting that many details, I'm more into details and I can almost OVERwork on a Naruto panel even if it's simple, for example

It should be a simple panel though I still do every details I could think of, on the other hand there are lots of colorists nowadays who only do one layer of shading and some brighlight here and there.
