    best sci-fi movie

So which sci-fi movie or which sci-fi movie series do you think is the best.
personally I'm a big fan of the aliens/AVP series. The design of the aliens was prolly one of the best ive seen of any creature design.

(dont give me any crap about "somebody already made a thread like this"
ok I looked through the thread starter and it wasnt there)

    Blade Runner

Rutger Hauer was absolutly brilliant as Roy Batty, The movie was way ahead of it's time and I loved the Dark feel it had too it.
Also, Vangelis composed a brilliant new age soundtrack, which fit the film perfectly.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The battle on Hoth was just plain amazing given the technology they had available at the time. Plus the shocking revelation that Vader is Luke's father? Brilliant.

Props to Ravona for the awesome sig! Noel is the greatest and I challenge you to prove me otherwise!

I also enjoyed the Fifth Element.

But one of my favorites for a long time was Demolition Man. Cheesy? It's still one of my all time favorites.

Minority Report was good. It's in my top five Sci-Fi movies.

That was a pretty entertaining movie. i love taco bell, and murder death kills.

Hmm. Best Sci Fi movies. thats tough.
Classics that people love and I hate are planet of the apes, and 2001: a Space Oddysey.
Space balls was pretty good but it was really a parody.

I'm going to have to go with Stargate, Event Horizon, Abyss, and Sphere.
Those are somewhat space and deep ocean type of movies.
I also like time travel movies like The Butterfly Effect and Flight of the Navigator.
With futuristic type movies I'll go with Bladerunner, and the original Matrix.
Campy type sci fi horrors I'll take Army of Darkness.

Lol, I just remembered Demolition man, and Minority report...but I preferred I-Robot...maybe it's just Will Smith and his need to kill robots...who knows...

    Spoiler!
