I wonder of Roger got the same disease that infected Brook's old captain and/or Whitebeard. Maybe the Grand Line causes pirates to get sick at some point?

Nah, I believe it's just a regular incurable condition, with no connection to other characters or their sicnesses. OP is often influenced by IRL historical events and persons, so why not like, take influence on the part of sailors contracting mysterious diseases?

But then again, this IS one piece we're talking about - it's nearly impossible to predict and see the hidden connections between happenings and characters, and all.

Cracus was the first to mention Raftel and he did talk to the side about Gol so he seemed like the best choice for the Doctor of the Pirate King but yeah I still thought the old witch was involved some how to since shes the one who mentions the Will of D. At least now we know why Roger turned himself in but what bugs me is this "cure for everything" that Chopper wants to find does this mean it doesnt exist.

I liked Gol D. Roger with his eyes blackened out, because he looked all sinister and like a badass. With his eyes showing, you can tell he was somewhat of a idiot. But we already knew that from Docterine's account.
