Anime Your Friends Love but You Hate

You ever love an anime that your friends hated or have a friend who loved a series that you hated?

Whenever it's come up, I've tried to avoid talking about the series, because it is just opinion, but it's hard to avoid saying something is bad when you're in an anime club and trying to decide on something to watch.

So, has this sort of thing ever happened to you? Are they are series that your friends like that you can't stand? What do you do if the series gets brought up?

I once wanted to strangle a friend of mine for making our club watch an episode of Grenadier. "Wow! Boobs so big that it's actually unattractive! Plus a bad plot!" Somehow, another friend in the club liked it; she said it was like Trigun. :huh

I also have friends don't like watching One Piece coz characters are ugly. But for me the most fun part are in ugly faces that fit for anime comedy.

Two main animes I would choose is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star. I DESPISE THESE TWO ANIMES, but everyone else seems to like them for some reason I would never understand.

I love original uncut Yugioh: DM, my friend is wondering whats wrong with me. Of course she won't even give it a chance.

Thats the #1 complaint I've head about One Piece I've heard from my friends, but I really don't see whats the problem, its just another style of drawing

I do know something of this sort as well, although its not me against everyone instead its my friend against everyone else. Unfortunately the anime which he has chosen to dislike is Cowboy Bebop (almost meade me do a double take), to this day I still have trouble believing that he dislikes it.

Probably because TMoHS is one of the best animes of all time. You have to watch it in chronological order, not the episode order, and you can pretty much skip the 1st episode [1st in episode order can be skipped, not chronological order] because thats the annoying one with Mikuru.

Lucky Star is like seinfeld in anime form. It's a random show about whatever they want to talk about. It's funny, especially if you are familiar with japanese culture/foods/etc.

TMoHS is awesome, chronological or otherwise, its original, the animation is topnotch and its funny. Guess I'm another fan

I enjoyed ouran high school, but most of the guys just go " oh another shoujo anime, boooring..." :s
