Website status: logged out, forum status: logged in?!

It worked in the morning but from afternoon till now (evening) I "log in", it thanks me for logging in, then redirects me back to the main page and then...
"Welcome, Guest"... like I absolutely did nothing :/ No matter how many times I try again...

Try starting out in forums, seems to eliminate the glitch.

it doesn't eliminate the glitch it just avoids it, but it is still there

I've brought in a skilled colleague to help me work out this issue since I have no idea why it's not functioning properly, so hopefully this will be solved soon

I tried logging out and coming back in. I'm still 'logged out' on the main page, but logged in in the forums.
