The chapters are all over the place and there are some huge scanlation gaps. Gintama is one of my favourite series and the anime is hilarious. Rumbel Subs is doing a nice job of subbing the episodes and as far as I know they are the only group actively doing it.

It's hard to believe though that there are well over 80 episodes but only 44 have been subbed, and there are 21 volumes but only 11 have been partially scanlated. These thoughts make me sad.

@Arhazivory: Your right. This manga doesn't get nearly as much love that it deserves. And Rumbel Subs really do, do(...!) an awesome job for subbing Gintama! ^^

But I can kind of understand why a lot of groups shy away from scanlating Gintama. Its not as popular as OP, Bleach, D. Gray (etc..) and only appeals to a certain group of people. And on top of that, it's quite a bit of a challenge to translate it! I used to do a tiny bit of translating for my cousins (verbal) and there were so many culture specific humor, jokes and zings if you don't really understand a lot about the Japanese culture and trivia it's hard to relay that into a different language. So yes. For those few groups hitting Gintama, I am grateful~~

I'm sorry but Gintama is hilarious, I never laughed so hard from a manga. Even the names of the chapters are funny. It's so funny to see hijikata and Okita going at it.

Even though it'd be great if you could post the link^^ I'm learning Korean (too) and I love this story, so I'd be really glad

And yeah, it's sad you can't get your hands on the full anime and manga :'(

    Gin0va, you should read it
Gintama is funny and interesting; sometimes makes fun of itself or other series (but it's still funny, NOT tasteless "joke" :/ ). It plays in a most interesting era (after Edo-jidai, at the very beggining of Meiji-jidai) and has its story and background from other ideas, too... it has samurais, action, humour...
I think you should try the first few episodes and then decide; if my recommendation was so bad I couldn't convince you xD

It’s not really a site with a links that you could download from. I got most of the books from a Korean dl program called Clubbox, but you have to be a member to get it and even then it’s kind of a pain to look for the files. But I’m such a Gintama junkie I hunted up till Vol 19. But if you’re still interested let me know which volumes you want and I’ll up it either on sendspace or megaupload.

Nice to have another Gintama fan on the forum. We are a rarity. v(^^)v
