Are you a One Piece Fan? Then click HERE, you wont regret it!!!
You could also move away from the big names in shounen when it comes to anime, because they are quite poorly made.

Lots of good looking anime on the way in the next few months.
Yozakura Quartet, Shikabane Hime, Zettai Shougeki, Tora Dora, 00 season 2 and Kurozuka catch my attention the most, but I'll probably pick up nearly all of the series on that pic.
Oh one that's being subbed at the minute I would recommend is Detroit Metal City, although it may not be for everyone, I find it pretty funny.
I'll say Tokyo Majin, Blood+,Eureka seveN, Last exile, Gintama, plus some animes that were mentioned already like BLEACH, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist others...

this series makes you trip ballz (highly recommend it)
As far as this season goes the three series that have caught my eye are Tales of the Abyss, ToraDora! and Clannad ~After Story~. Abyss is my favorite but there's really no way to miss with any of them.
Also, don't watch Yozakura Quartet. Read the manga instead. The show is far too devoid of the laughs that make the manga so great.
Props to Ravona for the awesome sig! Noel is the greatest and I challenge you to prove me otherwise!

anyone have any suggestions for something bleach-like? like swords and magic in a modern-ish setting, supernatural elements and serious without being dark and gloomy (ie some comedy thrown in sporadically).
ive seen soul eater and i watched claymore but that wasnt modern-ish and it had more of a western feel to it.
send me a pm if anyone knows of any, thx![]()
I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.
You all still have Zoidberg!
It's not really in a modern setting but if you're looking for a whole swords/ridiculous powers thing then Sengoku Basara might be right up your alley.

The fights are well animated and the characters, while not too deep, never fail to entertain. If you're looking for a good distraction then this is the show to watch.
Also, not that it has any bearing, but its OP is probably my new favorite anime song. >_>
