that is a logical explanation. I know you were semi joking, but that means you were semi serious. Him being a ghost would be pure stupidity on kishi's part. This isn't bleach, as of yet there aren't ghosts in the story.

It could just be the projection jutsu, mind how they were extracting the bijuu from gaara, well there was only a couple there. The rest were all projected and could still use their chakra to get the bijuu out of gaara, but I think to fight effectively they need to be there in person or at least use that 30% clone thing.

And about the part where he could have copied the fourths jutsu, Madara could have made chanes to it just like sasuke made changes to the chidori that kakashi would never have thought of, so its not impossible that madara made the jutsu better.

yea you were right about the madara being behind the kyubi attack my bad i forgot. secondly now that the new chapter came out, i think that you are also right about the madara copying the jutsu and changing it thing. i kind od felt it was the case, i just really didnt want it to be

Think about it:

He's hasn't been shown physically injuring anyone, or hitting anything.

Everytime he is attacked, it goes through him without any seals.

Perhaps Madara's immortality is that he put himself in ghost-like space/time jutsu on himself, or something like that. This "ghost" arguement has merits...

Uh....Madara physically kicked Naruto in the face a few chapters back and Deidara was able to put him in a leg chokehold. He can be hit. Shino and Hinata confirmed that Madara has a real body.
