Was it not said Kakashi Hatake would be Next if Tsunade went to back up Jiraiya and something happen to her? I mean so far Kakashi has not done much since the time skip and over use of the sharingan. Yamato has been the one in charge team 7 and in charge of Naruto training and the Kyubi.

tsunade n jiraiya favor kakashi so i think hes currently the best candidate

Naruto is of course going to be Hokage and then Konohamaru.

Kakashi did say Naruto surpassed him but that only able to complete complex jutsu and maybe smarts. Naruto does not have Kakashi speed, strength, along with a bunch of jutsu. Naruto does not have much Jutsu nor had be beaten someone on his own. Even Tsunade said that Naruto has a long way to go before they make him Hokage

He will be able to read the icha icha series, but his assistant Shizune will only do twice as many double-takes than she had with Tsunade. Fun times will be had. It would be funny if Kakashi lied to Naruto, just to get his confidence up, mental preparedness is half the battle. Hell I'd be unstoppable if I knew i was stronger than Kakashi lol. Anyways, Kakashi for Hokage, probably beats out Shizune in the polls. He has the experience and is already known across the land, so he has great presence as Hokage.

Seriously though, I think Kakashi is the only choice. The only other choice would have been Asuma and he's dead so that leaves Kakashi.
