Absalom = Arabic Origin?

One Piece translators: Am I correct in saying that the name Absalom is Arabic in origin? Since he's wearing a turban and all... And the name Abu Salam keeps cropping up in my head...

Maybe because of the name, but I think this was the real source for his looks:

Haha nice, a tiger in a turban. NBST's version of chapter 449 also has some translator's notes regarding Absalom.
