    Itachi's Scratch

IF THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE PLEASE CLOSE THE THREAD

I was check the internet for a cool avatar of Itachi on msn. Then I noticed Itachi has a scratch on his forehead protector, just like Sasuke after Naruto scratched it with a full power Rasengan. Does someone know how he got the scratch?

Its the sign that he is a missing nin and has revolted from his old village. I think its a status symbol too that he can wear that around in broad daylight and no one has the balls or power to say anything to him lol. I wonder how many hunter nin he's killed since now???

i think it is said somewhere that they put the scratch through the symbol of their village as representation that they have cut all bonds with that village and don't care for it anymore

when i find it in the manga i will post it
Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive -- the risk to be alive and express what we really are.

Actually I don't think all Ninja do it; but at least all of Akatsuki + Others do it. And yes, it's to show that they no longer maintain bonds and feelings for their old village. Although I can't see why they don't just ditch the forehead protector (It doesn't really "protect" much anyway) or get a new one.

I dont think they would get rid of the forehead protector after leaving the village because isnt the forehead protector attained at the rank of genin? aknoledgeing they're status as a ninja?

Haku still had his, untouched. but that could have been to fool other people into thinking he's a hunter-nin.
    Yawn...
