the thing about caribu is, he is still not out of the picture. we still dont know the guy he mentioned as "you know who" that he was trying to score points with. he will probably show up later, and hopefully with more character development.
his way of fighting is pretty cool actually, he is just too weak, both in character and in battle, to be a strawhat. unless some major changes happen when his boss shows up, we already have a good fealing who it is anyway XD, he is a no go

Random theory, What if CC is being mind controlled to be an evil dick? After all, I find it kind of funny that his subordinents haven't figured out he was a dick a long time ago, after all, he called them worthless pretty easily. Vegapunk might have done this to shift the blame of the explosion to CC, as well as conduct unethical experiments without anyone knowing that it's him doing it.

So the thing about Caribou was pointed at me, basically we don't know what he did on his ship, he was a captain but he was a captain with his brother so he probably has a job- also like, even if he didn't have anything that stands out (say his role was for storage.. lol) before Skypia Arc who would have thought a archaeologist/historian would be helpful to a pirate crew?

I'm not gunning/making predictions that it will happen, just that it could - and it wouldn't be stretch of the imagination. Of course Luffy doesn't care about a "logia" or otherwise but that's not an excuse to say "that's why Caribou is/was the least likely character to join".

Caribou was definitely a captain captain. I mean look at his brother, all he said was bro-bro. IMO, his brother was prob his first mate, much like Zoro is to Luffy. His bro definitely wasn't the type to make decisions, at least not based on the characteristics/personality that were shown to us. That and he's already clearly said that his aiming to join up with someone, so he has a goal already, and it's definitely not the SHs. He also seems too stupid to hold any proper position/profession. What we've got so far.

Luffy - Captain - Idiot with a bottomeless pit for a stomache
Zoro - First Mate/Swordsmen - Idiot with no sense of direction
Nami - Navigator - Pretty much is the (shadow) captain - Greed for money
Ussopu - Sniper - scardy cat liar
Sanji - Cook - pervert
Chopper - Doctor - pet with 7 transformations
Robin - Archeologist - the mature sexy one
Franky - Shipwright - perverted robot/cyborg
Brooke - Musician - Perverted Skeleton

Just trying to think what profession is missing. Do they really need a mad scientist?
