i think you hit the point: it's not "shounen" to introduce main protagonists and make them dead without a significant death. a shounen hero must die after an epic battle (i'm taking jiraya as example), not in a one way battle in which he succumbs instantly.

This chapter was awesome. The boob-thing was funny and I really like Vans new personality. And as expected it's because of granny that the kids are still alive. Seems the guy with the trick-boxes is part of the good guys now .
