Violinist of Hamelin
Hi everybody... who knows this wonderful manga?
It was published in my country from 1997, but it was interrupted at the 6th tankoubon.
It is a fantasy story: the basic premise is that a group of adventurers are traveling north to The Northern Capital (a.k.a Hameln) to prevent a catastrophe. In this world, music takes on a quality akin to magic and is a strong reoccurring element in the story.
The main character is Hamel, son of a human (Pandora) and a demon (Orchestra), who uses a violin (inherited from his mother) to perform his particular magic.
ScytheGP is traslating this manga (they achieved 33 of 37 volumes), and now, in Japan, the author Michiaki Watanabe is releasing the sequel: Violinist of Hamelin - The Nutcracker.
Thanks for the information, Nagatobimaru. (lol I like your username)
it sounds like a very interesting series, I'll check it out..
Who was the human mother? Vanessa-Mae?....
Looks interesting I'll read it as soon as I finish 666Satan (which I cant seem to get into for some reason)
Well, my username is taken from the manga Ushio to Tora... great series...

Then again, I might be wrong, please correct me if I am.
Thanks for the link, will check it out as soon as possible.
Well, anime are usually crappy.
Their main aim is to sell the product.
It's like a cute 42DDD girl promoting a lax. Parallel universes.
However, the anime (very short) was realized by Yoshiyuki Tomino (Kido Senshi Gundam)... this explains the dark atmosphere... ^_^
The manga is extremely funny... it makes u laugh from the very beginning.
Something similar happened in few mangas... Slamdunk, for example.
I thought SlamDunk anime was kinda ok, I like how their movements in a basketball game were animated, even though most of the times they focus on the characters' faces too much, so you get a still picture with dialogue.
But for Hamerun no Baiorinhiki, I was practically struggling to finish the anime. To me, it's like a slideshow of coloured pictures with sound effects. So you get this still picture of them, say, running to save their lives but you can hear their footsteps when they're not moving. I understand if they were to do that for suspense purposes but to do it for about 80% of the whole anime? I can only stay in suspense for so long.
Do you know where I can get the first chapters? The earliest I could find was Volume 25. Please and thanks!
Whatta asshole I am...
