Since Akatsuki ties in Itachi all the way through Orochimaru, they could not have existed that long if Nagato is the leader, but if Akastsuki was a long going organization then someone else would have to be the leader. Does anyone know the time-line relating Akatsuki to Naruto, Itachi, and Orochimaru. Not sure if i missed it or was it never mentioned. Help?

I could swear in vol 16 0f the official release Jiraiya states how long Akatsuki had been around for before the thirds death but i can't find my copy at the moment. Once i do i'll post it.
