CNN Just NOW Decides to Cover RapeLay

Yup, CNN's a little late to the bandwagon. Their cover of the eroge RapeLay began yesterday and already it's causing a shitstorm, even though the fiasco happened in 2008. Luckily, some people can see sense and are trying to set CNN straight.

What's more disturbing is not the coverage of That video game.. it's these idiotic people (the CNN anchor for example) who claim that "all" graphic/violent video games are somehow warping kids should they play/view them.

Despite the fact that every legitimate bit of research ever done on the subject has never concluded that playing 'violent' video games during adolescence had any quantifiable effect on their tendency for violent behavior in adulthood.

When will these ignorant individuals grasp that some people are just Fucked Up In The Head? "Violence" in our various cultures isn't something new. If anything we are Less Violent as a society than those existing a millennia ago, long before the modern day "Video Game" ever came into existance.

Porn is also alot easier to download/watch online than any game. War movies are alot more graphic than shooters like COD or Halo.

Exactly. I'm not a big fan of the pedophilia and blatant sexual abuse in eroge, but if we're gonna hit it for that, better hit everything across the board. Gangster movies, movies on serial killers, war movies, amongst others are all more violent than eroge.

Most countries already have a ratings system to give the citizens the responsibility to choose their entertainment wisely. It's either you enforce the ratings system and trust that it does it job, or get rid of it altogether.

Nothing to get worked up about though. It's left-wing scum like Equality Now who can't differentiate between reality and fiction that are the problem.

I find it irritating that governments across the globe get seriously anal about sexual themes in fictional media and yet extreme violence (as long as it's man against man) is absolutely fine.
