What is the Importance of Sasuke, that Sasuke doesn't know about??

Tobi wants Sasuke.
Madara (probably) wants Sasuke.


So tell me - what on god's green earth do you think is so damned special about Sasuke that Sasuke doesn't know yet??

Why do they want Sasuke, specifically?

There must be something we are all missing here. I have a feeling it's something beyond just his eyes.

All of them, had a different reasoning for their interest in Sasuke, but in the end; it's all the same.

1. Orochimaru wanted Sasuke, because Itachi was too skilled for him. He wanted his Sharingan / body, so he would be one step closer for being the " perfect " shinobi, at least; that's how he saw it.

2. Kabuto wants Sasuke, because A: Sasuke killed his mentor, the one who showed him the meaning of life and after Oro's fusion inside of him, he needs B: his body / eyes --> pump Hashirama's DNA in him and try to manipulate the body for awakening Rinnegan.

3. Tobi needs everything of Sasuke. His body, his eyes, his powers.. linking him to Gedou Mazou. Sasuke is the only one left, who's a true descendant of the Elder Brother, who possesses the most spiritual energy @ this moment. Uzumaki's were used to be a jinchirikuu, because they possessed the most physical energy / life force ( yang ) and Sasuke is going to be used, because he possesses the spiritual energy / strenght of chakra ( yin ).

sometimes I think he is one of the most selfish person in naruto manga.

Well, you see, Sasuke had this older brother. This older was named Itachi. And, you see, this brother named Itachi was aptly nicknamed Uchiha Jesus. He had all the makings of becoming the ultimate ninja, and everyone in the Narutoverse knew it. He was strong, smart, highly skilled in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, and to top it all off, he had the Sharingan. But there's a price to pay when one is far too good for his own good, which we all know Itachi was. And for that reason, the God's of the Narutoverse had no choice but to severely handicap him with the one disease all characters far too strong for their own good contract.

We've all come to know it as "Teh AIDS", a disease that makes the victim perform far below their full capacity, but ironically enough, they're still better than the vast majority of their peers. Anyway, at the time, all eyes were on Itachi and his development, which was progressing far faster than anyone at his age. But "Teh AIDS"... The fucking "Teh AIDS" had to shut him down. Of course, Oro was the only one to try anything despite this fact, and for good measure since his snake-like tendencies could find some way to avoid "Teh AIDS" affecting Itachi's body. But alas, Itachi was still too much to handle for Oro, as we all know. So then, if you can't have Uchiha Jesus, then why not go after his brother. And this is why Sasuke is so important to these people (sans Madara). If Uchiha Jesus could become Uchiha Jesus practically on his own, to what heights could his brother, Sasuke, climb under the careful guidance of a teacher?

TL;DR If you can't get Itachi, settle for the next best thing, his brother.

It's hard to say forsure but I personally think that it has to do with Sasuke being the only one capable of completing the Rinnegan. Tobi has always put a lot of emphasis on the importance of Sasuke's eyes. From the first time they met he has been trying to test Sasuke's eyes and push them to the limit. After Sasuke's fight with Deidara he mentioned that Sasuke's eyes would surpass Itachi's. After Sasuke obtains the Mangekyou Sharingan, Tobi says talks about how eventually plans to sync Sasuke with the Heretical Demon Statue. He also briefly mentions the idea of Sasuke surpassing Nagato (who of course had the Rinnegan).

As others have mentioned, both Madara and Orochimaru originally seemed to be interested in Itachi, he showed extreme potential at a very young age and likely seemed to be the best suited to brining the Sharingan farther than it had ever been taken before. Overtime though, Itachi showed that he was too resistant to their will, he was unwilling to go along with either of their plans. Then, to further disqualify him, he somehow contracted his illness making him completely unsuitable. That left Sasuke as the final pure blooded Uchiha. Sasuke was more receptive to being manipulated just as Nagato was. Tobi needs the true Rinnegan and he needs someone who can sync with the Heretical Demon Statue.

Now that we know that the Rinnegan is an evolved form of the Sharingan, I think it is quite likely that Sasuke is the only one who can complete the Rinnegan. Madara took it to the level that we have currently seen but it still doesn't appear to be the final form. Since we know that Madara is dead, Tobi likely thinks that Sasuke is the last one who can complete the puzzle.

Kabuto likely still wants Sasuke because he is continuing Orochimaru's work to become the perfect being. Kabuto/Orochimaru wanted to combine all of the bloodlines, learn every technique, and use that knowledge to create new ones. As Orochimaru said, the sharingan is the fastest way to learn all of the techniques in the world and now that Kabuto knows about the Rinnegan he must realize that it will allow him to not only learn those techniques but master them quickly. Just as Nagato could use any element and master the techniques he was taught quickly. The only thing he cannot copy with the true Rinnegan would be bloodline but Orochimaru was skilled at manipulating bloodline and Kabuto seems to have taken that to the next level. Yet we still don't know lots of details, such as how Kabuto would intigrate the eyes into himself when Orochimaru already failed to possess Sasuke. Also, we still don't know what syncing with the Heretical Demon Statue really does. Tobi already has the Rinnegan but clearly he needs someone else to sync with the statue.

Perhaps, although I think his eyes are definitely a big part of it, as is his bloodline. Those really seem to be the things that set him apart from everyone else. I agree with you though, I think there is still more to it than that. We still don't really know the depths of Tobi's plan or Kabuto's. We know that Tobi's ultimate goal is the moon's eye plan and I think it is safe to assume that Kabuto's is to become the near Omnipotent being Orochimaru wanted to be but the details of exactly what Sasuke's role will be is still not certain.

I think that Sasuke possess very high spiritual power, much like how Naruto possess very high physical power. I am guessing that only someone who has immense spiritual power can sync with the Heretical Demon Statue and use it to its full extent. Nagato obviously had very strong life force but using the Statue seemed to be too much for him to handle. Sasuke, has seems to have almost mastered Susanoo, and Susanoo also seems to drain the life force of its user. Perhaps, by mastering Susanoo, Sasuke has developed a resistance to the Heretical Demon Statues ability to drain away life force. I think that may be part of it. But since Madara also seemed to have a mastery of Susanoo and he did not manage to complete the Rinnegan, I have to assume there is still more to it than that.

Well, to be fair, I think that if anyone has a right to be emotionally and mentally unstable its Sasuke. Recap his story to see what a messed up time he has had.

He grew up in his brothers shadow idolizing him but also struggling for his father's attention. His father tells him to be like his brother and then as soon as his brother falls out of favor he tells him to stop being like him. Then at the age of 8 he comes home to find his family and clan massacred by the person who seemed to love and admire most. Itachi then makes Sasuke relive the entire experience of his families murder. He spends the next 5 years desperately trying to become as strong as his brother so that he can kill him, shunning all attention from his peers.

As soon as his life seems to have stabalized a bit, he begins to open up and make some friends, some freak named Orochimaru shows up and gives him the cursed seal which almost kills him. He tries to resist the offer but he nearly gets killed by Gaara and then he gets saved by Naruto (who never showed much talent at the academy). Then he finds out Itachi is back in town but doesn't seem to give a damn about him and is going after Naruto instead. Sasuke goes to save Naruto from Itachi, once again getting his ass kicked and being forced to relive the Uchiha massacre once again through Tsukuyomi. Sasuke then challenges Naruto to a fight desperate to prove that he isn't a weakling. Naruto almost wins and Sasuke, after seeing the power of Rasengan believes that he has truly become inferior to Naruto. Kakashi has a talk with him and trys to convince him that revenge isn't the answer. The talk might have helped but then the sound nin show up and once again he gets his ass kicked, showing him again that he just isn't improving fast enough. Believing that he will remain weak if he stays in the village, he chooses to accept Orochimaru's offer to gain power quicker. He goes through with it and the result is good, the cursed seal makes him much stronger and he seems to be able to kick Naruto's ass. Then Naruto starts to use the power he used to beat Neji and Gaara but Sasuke severes his ties to Naruto and gets a stronger sharingan. They fight, Sasuke wins, which likely proves to Sasuke that the path he has chosen is the correct one.

Sasuke spends the next few years under Orochimaru's tutelage and the results are good, the next time he meets Naruto, he kicks his ass. Then he turns on Orochimaru and reverses his technique to steal his power. Once again the result is good, Sasuke seems like a bad ass for the next few volumes, proving that stealing power is a great way to get power fast. Then Sasuke fights Deidara, a member of Akatsuki, the closest he has come to Itachi, he wins and takes his eyes skills to the next level. Then the moment of truth comes when he finally meets Itachi, he learns a ton of messed up stuff but he fights, almost loses, and then Itachi dies. Things should be good, his ultimate goal of revenge is complete, then he meets some new freak who tells him that he had it all wrong, his clan was planning to start a war and Itachi killed them all to protect the world. Itachi was also doing everything he could to keep Sasuke alive and make him strong. Sasuke realizes that he has accomplished nothing by killing Itachi and comes to believe that all the shit in his life was actually caused by the Konoha village elders.

Sasuke's quest for revenge continues, with a new target of Danzou and the elders. He gets the Mangekyou and once again appears to be a badass until he meets Killerbee and almost gets killed. Still, he discovers new powers in that fight that make him believe he can destroy Konoha without the help of Tobi. He heals up and then rushes off to kill Danzou. Tobi interupts him and basically shows him that he is a fool because he failed to capture the 8-tails and Konoha has already been destroyed. Then he learns about Danzou going to the summit from Tobi, increasing his reliance on Tobi but giving him a new target. He goes to the Kage summit, fight well and discovers new powers but he almost dies again and needs to be saved by Tobi. Then Tobi overs him Danzou on a platter, he fights Danzou and Danzou reveals more shit about his clan, showing further how his clan has been used and sacrificed. Sasuke kills Danzou and it feels great but his eyes start to fail him. Sakura, the girl who always loved him shows up but she eventually tries to kill him. Kakashi then shows up and uses his clan's eye against him which pisses him off. Naruto then shows up and feeds him a bunch of queerness which seem to piss him off even more. Tobi saves Sasuke again, Sasuke realizes that he won't be able to do shit if he looses his eye sight so he final gives in and takes his brothers eyes.

Sasuke obtains power greater than ever but as he is on his way too kill Konoha and complete his quest for revenge once and for all, he runs into Itachi. Itachi, his dead brother who he spent half of his life loving and admiring and the other half hating and trying to kill. Itachi who taught him, killed his family, torchered him, died fighing him, yet protected and saved him. Itachi is probably the only person who can fully answer his questions, yet now, when they have been given this seemingly impossible opportunity, Itachi won't tell him a damn thing.

A lot of people in this story have had a hard life and a brutal childhood. No one, however, has been used, yanked around, pressured and confused as much as Sasuke has. I mean Naruto had a tough childhood but he didn't have to watch his whole family killed right infront of him by the person he admired most. Sasuke has been manipulated, controlled, deceived and just plain messed up his whole life. It's no wonder he can't tell the difference between right and wrong. I think that having him go a little insane is understandable.

Hmm... very true, Naruto is the last Uzumaki.... The absolute last(Symbolic) of the fight between the Younger and older Son of the Sage? In the end, there can be only one... The Path of Love/Compassion(Naruto) Vs The Path of Power/Hate(Sasuke)...

So in a sense Sasuke is important because of that underlining sub plot of ideals
