    Well, if I compare the One Shot at the end of the DN series and the one at the beginning, the one at the end is just that, a one shot episode, with nothing really new or different, only, it's completed once you reach the credits.

    I think the reason we got the eraser in the one shot pilot and not afterwards was that is was a pilot, and like the pilot for any kind of series, its goal is to see if the idea is well received by the public and to decide on what should be changed (like in that Simpsons episode, where Homer Simpson is the name of a serious detective in the pilot of a TV show called Police Cops, but once the series starts, he's a complete dork).

    I've been watching this for about a week now, just finished it.

    Wow.. just wow. The whole series was amazing, my friend has been bugging me to watch it for .. ehh, 3 years? I think that's when it was first released, I never thought it would be this good though.

    The mangas ending is hell alot better than the animes just so you know .. my opinion

    I concur, the manga ending is far superior to the anime ending. I'm not sure why they changed, the rest of the anime is very faithful to the manga as far as I know.

    Put on some nice music, start from the beginning and take your time. Reading Death Note was a very enjoyable experience for me ^^
