    Very.

He SAID practically he was sad to kill one of his ...sacrifices (like Road had called the Noah in connection with the Earl). And his plans were screwed.

A Noah is unlikely to be a host for Innocence.

He probably cried since this is his first real defeat this time round and it was the best way to show his affection (thanks to his constant grin). Whilst at the same time he realises the one who is meant to defeat him has risen (Allen thanks to his Crown Clown sword). At this stage though its very clear who the 14th Noah who betrayed was, it can only be Mana hence all the mystery behind him.

At that time the Earl didn't know yet that he was defeated. He believed that the exorcists were all killed because it looke dlike teh old Ark has finished its download.

The earl was crying because he was destroying the arc. He built it himself right. The arc was very important to him. C'mon he's had for 7000 years. When we see him crying he had no idea whatsoever that the download would not be completed.

That's right. But I think he was kind of sad about the Traitor Noah, too. Though he did kill him, they still once had been allies. Even as villain it leaves behind bitter feelings of some sort.
But mainly it's about the Ark, I agree.
