    Because that's Ichigo's part,

    The captain are now at a massive disadvantage, well except Kenpachi he's having a blast lol

    Ichigo will most likely come back but in my opinion he can't win unless his in his transcended form, but we'll see.

    Because its Anime. And it's not only Kurotsuchi, All the other Captains were standing there gawking, even Soifon who's always talking about Assasination tactics and stuff.

    It would have made some sense if the script writer had used some plot armor or whatever, Oh well that's Manga/Anime for you.

    Also, it fits Mayuri's personality. He never immediatly kills anyone...he always has to tell them how they will be perfect test subjects for his experiments and what not. He did that with Ishida, the espada, and the old man bount. Ken does somewhat the samething, he always beats his opponent up, then he starts to walk away because the fight is no longer fun. The only Captains I can think of that go straight for the kill is Byakuya, maybe Toushiro, soifon, and Komamaru.
