The guy escorting Robin in page 1 isn't Sabo..

    This guy is:
    http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece...6/page001.html

I see no reason for Oda to draw him grown up if he was dead.
As for reasons/possibilities why he didn't show up to save Ace....there are millions. Here is 1:

Maybe he had faith in the WB pirates?

edit: there is no crossed "S" on Ace's arm. We all know Oda..he's telling us that Sabo is alive

It would had been stupid to just randomly add Sabo to the war without anyone know who he was, Oda doesn't like to complicated things he mentions this hundreds of times. Before he introduces a major character to be shown in the story , that said character probably been mentioned once or twice before his appearance. His last few Q and A's he even says why he didn't mentioned Sabo in the beginning of the war arc when the first panel/flash back of Ace/Luffy pass appeared. Giving same reason I said above. Regardless will get his reason for not joining the war when he reappears simple as that.

Sabo is waiting at the Island before Raftel. He's waiting to challenge luffy for the Pirate King title..............probably not, but I wonder if Robin met him during the 2 year skip?

Cool, the ''S'' in ''A-s-ce'' is crossed out, similar to the ''S'' in Sabo's flag.

If Sabo was still alive you'd think Oda would had done the flash-back arc BEFORE the war.. obviously he wasn't thought up on the spot (Else he wouldn't have been a main character in the arc he was shown) so it makes no sense for him to still be alive, he was made up to die and thus give Luffy the courage to go on after Ace's death.

Not trying to get back into this thread ( since FenixMarco "knows" Sabo is alive ) however, I don't understand why a number of people thinks its likely that he's still alive, and clearly its MOST likely that Sabo died on that ship.

I don't mean to drag you back into anything, but that reasoning doesn't make any sense. You've conceded that Sabo was on the ship, but why are you so certain that he died?

@guy I meant on the ship he set sail on that was destroyed by the nobles, not Dragons ship.

And @Hal, I doubt Oda would have to show a corpse for him to be dead, after all Sabo wasn't fighting when he died, nor was he grown - I can't imagine Oda drawing a picture of a dead 10year old who just got blown up with a cannon.

He could have still made it clear through other ways.

I thought he did, I mean, Sabo was really strong for his age but he wasn't "super human" yet ... and I'm assuming a cannon used by world nobles would be stronger then any normal hand cannon(Sabo was just stronger then a normal adult, even Mike Tyson would die being blown up with a cannon).

Lastly, I think its clear because the story was set up after Ace's death.. it would had been no problem for Oda to make up that arc before the war, for example - after Alabasta the crew could had asked about Ace. So I really don't buy the explanation "Sabo couldn't had came during the war because he wasn't shown yet".

As I have said, its much more likely Sabo was just made to help Luffy get over Aces death, and also it shown why Luffy cannot fail at becoming the PK - he was the youngest brother, last out to sea, and the last one to survive.. so he couldn't just stop after Ace's death he had to move forward.
