Earthquake Moved Japan's Coast 8 Feet, Shifted Earth's Axis

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy estimated the 8.9-magnitude quake shifted the planet on its axis by nearly 4 inches.

Japan (CNN) -- The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.

Mother nature never see's to surprise us. So is like the whole Oceanic plate is pushing the East to the west? That why California is slowly pulling away from the US. Think I watched a movie exaggerating all this.

Anyways your link showed how this happen pretty well, I feel bad for all the boats that had no warning what so ever caught in the middle of the ocean when the Tsunami formed. It said waves at 15,000ft of water can go as fast as 475mph although they might be exaggerating that too.

cuz the U.S. is on its way. in fact the military that was already there is already going in to action and ships and personnel are on there way to help any way they can.

Was it called 10.0 because in that movie California actually broke away from the United States completely.

Well the tsunami that hit Japan moved about 500 to 600 mph, that's what I heard.
