This is where we'll put all the translations for any SBS or data book material (that is story relevant) as well as discussions we have about new information. I'll just edit my first post with the newest up to date info that I translate myself. Of course anything found out on the interwebs by AP_Aohige or other translators is more than welcome here as well!

11/7/2010 - Green Data Book - Tidbits

p. 16 - It is written right in the front of the book that Luffy says "10人がほしいな！” (I want 10 people) and next to it a bubble reads, "The ideal number of crew members is AT LEAST 10 people. The Strawhat crew currently has 9 people. Does that mean that at the very least we'll have one person join in the New World?" Many of the "secrets" are written out like this, meaning it's not actually definitive evidence, which is why it's hard to translate and find what's worth posting from this HUGE data book.

p. 17 - Talking about how Morgan became the way he did, evidently the one who tore him up and left him for dead was none other that Captain Kuro. He killed his whole crew and ripped Morgan's Jaw off. I'm not sure if that was known, but it looks like one of the "secrets" anyway.

p. 24 - What is the difference between Fishmen and Merpeople? Many Fishmen are short tempered and brutish and thus they use pure strength to rule over fish and sea monsters alike. Merpeople are much kinder and make friends with the fish, thus the fish try their best to help the Merpeople. (important or not, any info on Fishmen heading into Fishman Island is good I figure)

p. 25-45 - All the adventures of Coby and Helmeppo...Oda-sensei calls them...Cobymeppo...

p. 130 - Chapter 216 - After Vivi's speech, when they go back to rain base (crocodile's casino) you can see Mr. 3 standing out infront on the page where the people are saying Vivi's speech is 2 hrs late. He was obviously captured soon after...haha!

p. 312 - from chapter 524 it shows the big two page spread of all the marines gathered at marine ford. If you zoom WAAAAAAY in, standing behind one of the giants (black and white pin stripe pants) is none other that Captain T-Bone! The swordsman who Zoro tossed off the Sea Train enroute to Enies Lobby. (this is not important, I just had a good laugh at it).

02/03/11 - Book 61: A tree theory confirmed and Diamond Jozu...

Very little to no good info in the SBS this time around. Just a few points in abbreviated form.

1. The tree where Luffy left his hat during the training with Rayleigh was in fact of the same tree family as the trees in Strong World, just not a poisonous version.

2. Ace's final facial expressions (a frown and then a smile) were not intentionally connected to the charms on his hat (the frown and the smile). Oda simply put the charms on the hat to make it more interesting and stylish. This one question took up an entire page of SBS.

3. Q:Odachi!!! Question!!! Does the 3rd Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates Diamond Jozu have a diamond penis? Please tell me!!!

O: Yes, that's right. Diamond Jozu's Penis is a Diamond Penis.

(These are the BS questions he answered instead of the questions we asked, questions from foreigners written creatively in Japanese with plenty of funny and not too much story weight not to answer!?! COME ON!)

11/03/2010 - Book 60: Sengoku's Devil's Fruit Ability

Unfortunately out of book 60 there was really only one decent tidbit within the good old SBS. It was also something a lot of us (including myself) had been thinking. Here you go!

Q: Oda Sensei! What exactly is Fleet Admiral Sengoku’s power? I’ve been wondering for a while.

O: Now this is what I’m talking about. If you ask a question normally you will get an answer. (The last person asked why Sengoku’s head looked like fish eggs.) The truth is I just didn’t have time with everything happening during the war to properly flesh his power out, but his power is the same as Marco’s, a mystical type. He has the zoan type mystical beast, hito hito (person person) fruit model: Daibutsu (Buddha). I’m not sure if calling Buddha a mystical beast is ok or not, but biologically speaking humans do fall into the animal kingdom. Please just allow this one.

9/20/2010 - Book 59: Whitebeard Pirates Break Down

Q: Whitebeard Pirates shall here after referred to as the main force. Can any pirates under the influence of Whitebeard become a captain in the main force? Or to become a captain, do you have to have been in the main force for a long time?

Oda: I’d like to explain a little bit about the Whitebeard Pirates. First you have the Captain, Whitebeard, and his 16 divisional captains. These 16 all have the same standing in the crew. The division numbers are NOT distributed by strength. They’re all of the same level. These 16 teams are what make up the Whitebeard Pirates. Now the 43 pirate crews that are under Whitebeard’s influence. This is NOT Whitebeard’s crew, they normally act completely independent of one another. But, these pirate crews have the utmost respect for Whitebeard and come together when he calls. They are those kinds of pirates. In Ace’s case, the Spade Pirates were disbanded and all the members joined the Whitebeard Pirates. Seeing as Ace was their captain, he became a division captain in the Whitebeard Pirate crew.

I get a lot of letters from female readers asking me to cover some kind of relationship but if that’s what you want to read, go read a girl’s manga, that’s not my job. I don’t care if someone falls for Luffy, but it’s something that would be over before you know it. But knowing Luffy, I don’t think that kind of thing would be a problem. (laughs)

Also, I had a sorcerer in a short story once, but I won't be using that in the series. Any preposterous situations are all created by the devil fruits. That one point is rather supernatural, but everything else is normal.

Yo the 4th one was so obvious but it's great it was bluntly said by Oda, wish he would do that for all the other retarded ideas. Franky jet pact and Robin flying theories shut down.

I posted 1 of Greg's Green data book quote, the jist of it is that 10 isn't the definite number of members for the crew, although I think it will be the exact number as BB's and not a cluster f*ck regular crew like most of them are.

Can someone also post any translated info. from the green databook here? There's supposed to be 80+ secrets revealed in it. It just got released 3 days ago and it hasn't been translated completely yet.
