Also, there are many cases where you can enter but cant leave. Well... in fantasy situations. Still seems a bit odd, though, thats for sure..

He, probably, is at shool in a normal world, but the rest of the gang is in a parallelshadow world with is controled by Enigma. The 2 words probably interact with each other, so erasing the password in normal may erase it in the shadow world as well.

The shool and town were dark, without light, where Sumio is, yet where the new guy is there was light in his house and is at school as well.

So the one holding the new password may be a ghost, or some other spiritual being. It would mean that the hooded guy has a "talent" to speak/itneract with ghosts.

This could explain why the hooded guy is angry at that patroling teacher, who probably was a barier that would not allow him to go to the old shool building at night.
