well, does Zoro count, since he was trained by Mihawk?.

at least, Vista developed his own skills on his own terms. that should leave him second before Zoro at least.

Of course he does, but he pretty obviously is not the second strongest swordsman in the world.

I'm wondering if there is someone greater then Mihawk that we haven't met yet, after all who trained Mihawk.

    Someone should have trained Mihawk.

But for now there is no other swordsman stronger than Mihawk.Thats canon.

i think hes just barking up the wrong tree hal. we may meet mihawks teacher but mihawk has clearly surpassed him. and who knows there could be a number of swordsmen close to mihawks level able to keep pace with him but as hal said there just is no one right now better or stronger with a sword. like hal said its just cannon.

Do you think that Ray might have trained Mihawk?

i doubt it, but its possible at the very least. but im guessing some one a bit older. my guess is silvers did train shanks. i mean that makes sense. but i dont know about mihawk i mean it would be a nice thing for oda to show but not necessarily necessary for the story.
