Heh, yes, I know. I wouldn't even call them good, they are out-right bad![]()
This one is decent, but I felt some of the voiceovers and subs ruined it a bit:

This one is also good for being fan-made:

OK i put better one up than the first one and the second one was good one of my fav songs and i think we just have different tastes
I don't think we necessarily got different tastes, I think I simply expect more from an AMV. To me, a good AMV should make you 1) want to see the anime it's depicting if it only includes one, 2) thematically fit the music of choice and preferably tell a story around it, and 3) be edited in such a way that it comes out in an artistic fashion, ergo, no simple copy and paste work, anyone can do that. Put some editing effort into it, sync the music, add some other effects.

The result should be similar to something like this. It is unfair to compare every single AMV out there to Euphoria, but the goal should always be something like in Euphoria. How it's being reached depends on what the purpose of the AMV is. The problem with many AMVs is that they got no purpose beyond the "i liek anime X, i got wmm so i maek gud amv". Unfortunately that's not how it works. You have to of course like the show(s) you are including in your AMV, but it should not be on the basis of just doing it because you like the show. There must be a reason beyond that, or the AMV will always come out crappy if you ask me. It's like with all other forms of art. Without there being a deeper purpose like how punk was a political movement or how hip-hop tries to discuss racial injustice in USA the art itself will be pointless beyond personal enjoyment of the creator or a few select fans who do not understand what art truly is either.
Call me an elitist if you will, call out that Bleach has no purpose beyond Kubo trying to tell a story, but trying to tell a story is still better than "i liek anime x"Just look at RaXephon, which tried so hard to copy EVA the little sense of originality it has drowned out. RaXephon has great potential but in its attempt to be as obscure as EVA, it just has way too many plotholes because frankly, the storywriters didn't even include any answers for them. The end result is that RaXephon shoots itself in the foot. Instead of coming out as a great mecha anime on its own terms, you now constantly think of EVA when you watch it except it has nothing EVA has. There is a fine line between being inspired by and copying.

I have yet to find an AMV that really matches the lyrics/feeling/emotion/meaning of the song to the actions happening in the scenes from the anime. Most/All just come off as a bunch of random scenes that the creator found "cool" and put it to a fade song that they liked at a specific time in the angsty life. Truely just an anime music video and nothing more, LeaT yours was pretty good though, good showcase of editing skill and stayed with the song for a good degree, but all the ones before were poo poo/
A pie in the sky?
and WOW thats alot to read and i can agree with u on what makes a good amv and i dont think i and goint o comment on the rest LOL and well i dont really see an amv as bad unless its just complete trash the amv i put up are ok i mean there nothing to rave about but i agree with u there are no blow my mind amv's but i will direct you to http://www.mangashare.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16841
thi is a one piece amv thread i made and i did post some WOW amv's there and i think u will agree most of them are better than the ones i put up here and the first video in my third post is i will say one of the best amv's i have seen in a long time and i will try to find some better bleach amv's to post here and once again i have made NONE of these.
Well, I agree that they are better and some of them even got the potential to be really good.

I think it improves a lot as it goes on. The start is very poorly synced though.

Again, huge room for improvements, but still not so bad for being fan-maded either. Some of the syncs are fabulously done.
