Anime you hated before you tried?

Bleach was one i kept telling myself i would get around to watching, i even put off downloading the first 25 eps because i was about to download (kick myself) angelic layer.

Although I am a closet angelic layer fan

it would probably be Death Note i thought it was the dumbest anime but once i watched it i loved the concept

That would have to be:

#1 Bleach. When a friend explained to me what the story is (didn't read the manga first) I liked the idea of death gods and all. But then she told me about the arc "rescue Rukia" and I just thought rescuing a helpless girl locked in a tall tower was a bit too, how should I put it... corny?
But I got over it.

#2 Gundam Wing. Just seemed to boyish.... >_>''' But I got over that too and kinda liked the anime. XD

But in general I'm more of a manga fan.

i hated one piece cuz seemed kind of retarded
full metal alchemist cuz i thought it would be boring as hell
cowboy bebop cuz i thought it was also gonna be dumb
but man was i wrong. all wonderful animes.

Believe it or Not, Full Metal Alchemist, I told people in a forum that I hated it, then i got flamed o_o and I never returned. Then it was One Piece, I wasn't too fond of it, but one day I was bored and decided to watch the first ten episodes just to see if it was as good as people say, and boom, its now my favorite anime.

For me, that would be pretty much every anime/manga I've ended up following.

Fullmetal Alchemist - first episode I saw was the one where the brothers were looking for Dr. Marco. I thought Ed was a girl and Al was a female robot-thing. Looked dumb, didn't want to watch. Then I saw it from the beginning... amazing. Lesson here - don't judge a series unless you've seen it from the beginning.

Naruto - saw some idiots at my high school wearing the leaf headbands, and that turned me off of the show for a long time. I finally gave it a chance after reading Mathew Schocke's Team 8 fanfic.

Bleach - I thought the concept was stupid. From Ichigo's design, I thought he was a typical shounen hero-type - boring and stupid. But, like Naruto, I gave it a chance and was pleasantly surprised.

Cowboy Bebop - thought it had a stupid name. Yeah, I know. I'm an idiot.

When I seen the basis for D.Gray-Man, I thought that it would have been another lame religious issue dealing with series. Once I started reading it, I discovered I was deeply wrong.
