    Am I missing something or does Shujin's ability make no sense whatsoever? By reversing incoming attacks it may be somewhat confusing but by also reversing defensive actions isn't it self-nullifiying?
    Enemy attacks from before you, you guard from before you and since both are reversed you are basically fighting as if nothing were different. oO

    You mean Shinji right? First I read Shunsui, but then I realized it wasn't his shikai you were talking about. And no, it's about confusing your enemy. Obviously he has trained with Sakenade enough to be used to the effect, or it wouldn't be very effective indeed.

    But when ichigo saw hinamori all the time why did he try to attack her when coming out of the gargantua or however this hole was named ...?

    Eh, right. Im confusing the names a little. Shujin was a character from Bakuman.
