lava is hotter than fire,plus it has rocks in it like u said which probably go through the fire,

It's Lava not just Molten Rock, it pretty much speaks for itself. And I think it pretty much makes sense aswell though it's really kinda suspicious.

i just dont get how to burn a fire man... water man, foam man, or croc (sand man) would be a better enemies for Ace...

I dont think it literally burns the fire. Just overpowers it, thus hurting the caster. But I guess Im overthinking this since this is One Piece we're talking about here.

Nullify is the word that comes to mind. As Croc said before
