Well if it was an illusion, Aizen wouldn't have gone through the effort of blocking the attack in the first place. He would have just made Hitsugaya think he landed an attack when he really didn't like what Aizen did with Halibel. I mean, making an illusion to make someone believe there attack was blocked seems kinda stupid (and on another level of asshole-ishness too lol).

Thats true, but if you think about it strategically like Kira would do where before his opponent knew what was happening he would try to parry his blows as much as possible then surprise him I think i might work for Hitsugaya. Plus he can control the atmosphere and weather so he could slowly make it colder and colder too until you just can't fight it anymore.

Im pulling from personal experience where your stuck out in the -20 degree weather and its just no use, your body starts to slow down, you start to feel like your drunk and just get sleepy and slow lol, easy kill at that point.

He'd only lose to Ryuujin Jaka.

On topic:

Im curious about what Hitsugaya meant when he attacked Aizen and commented on how he didn't use his zanpakuto's power right away, how would he know that though? Aizen could just make it look like he blocked with his sword but in the end he was just hitting a tree or something lol.

that might be possible when fighting someone else but when fighting aizen even if he could manage to do it i dont think that aizen would be affected by that.

I still can't believe how lame Shinji's bankai was made out to be. It's a pro bankai, AIzen just made it look lame. I was also expecting so much more.

I think Kubo set himself up. Even if Ichgo beat him(aizen), everyone will be dissapointed beacuse Kubo built Aizen up to be totally undefeatable (is that a real word?) either way, the way things are now nobody will satisfied with the ending. Kubo is a genious for creating an excellent manga, but somewhere the plot went awry

I also like Urahara and Mayuri!
