I take it Komamura truly disappointed you. However, you are correct on every level. I like Sajin's character but this outing did make him look foolish & weak. You & Zero are correct in your criticisms of him. On another note, I wonder if 'One Shot Shinji' needs medical attention. Also, where in the hell is the 11th division?! These guys should be the SS stars of this Arc.
The time I like Sajin best was when he fought in the Arrancar War against one of Barragan's Lackeys (POW), the one that looked like the whale. I mean that Kokujou Tengen Myou really OWNED., and even Sajin's battle with Tousen was okay, given that a very powerful, fast and mobile opponent would normally dominate a large and ponderous one.

I can't even say that I understood any of the Heart removal deal, and the curse too. I mean Sajin rips his own heart out, and instead of dieing, he becomes sort of Immortal, but he could still take damage, and if he reacted with vengeance in this state, he turns into a beast..???? What the....???

In the mean time, The stuff his granddaddy was saying was indecipherable to me. What was Granddaddy Wolf Thanking Sajin For???. Anyway, Rukia and Renji are here now, let's see what they can do.

^ Well, short story short, the Dog-Clan are the Uchiha of the series (revengeful and cursed, though they morph their bodies instead of eyes). Now remember the time when Tobi (acting as Madara) was really happy about Sasuke's action, namely piercing Danzou together with Karin ? It's basically the same thing here. The Grand Daddy is happy that the small goody doggy Komamura, his own blood, proved to be the same vengeful bastard like he and the rest of their clan. Now if Komamura acted differently, then that would deny the clan and their actions, proving that they were wrong, when they believed that blind vengeance and rancor is rightful. I guess one could also say that the Grandfather is happy, that his grandson finally accepted his clan and his clan ways - blind, furious, beastly avenger kind of line of deal - so to speak, Komamura has inherited the Grandfather's vengeful spirit, so I guess the Grandfather could be happy and proud about that (looks like their curse will last for long, long time, seeing as they see no fault in their logic).

In the 7 day span of training (more or less) Komamura managed to tell his story to his grandfather, or managed to do it at some other time. Funny enough, the reason that Grandfather taught him the technique in the first place, might be because he realized that what was driving Sajin, was not "duty", neither was it "the will to protect", nor was it "repayment", but simple burning "vengeance" (and perhaps not that Sajin defeated him, kukuku).

At least Sajin himself realized his hypocrisy, that he was no different from his friend (Tousen) that he himself ostracized, or the current enemy he is facing, that even though he was meant to be a "protector" (you know "Gotei" meaning something along of "defenders"), he desired to be the "executioner", so technically speaking he failed his duty and just like Toushirou and Aizen said (at FKT wars/battles), one who acts merely for revenge, whose swords is filled with nothing but hatred, is unworthy of the captain seat (http://www.mangastream.to/bleach-cha...03-page-3.html).

...and then comes Iba and pretty much tells him that it's alright to die for those that are already dead... yeah, instead of saying that he should live for those that are still alive... well he is only a VC, so what would he know :p.

Well paul, at this point you should probably be used to the fact that a lot of things revel around the "heart" in Bleach :
    - Hollows - those who were consumed by their own "hearts" (quite literally) and consume the "hearts" of others,
    - Arrancars - those that wield their "hearts" as "swords",
    - Fullbringers - those that pull out the "hearts" of items, and strengthen them with their own "hearts",
    - Wolf-men - those that throw away their hearts, in quest for vengeance.

Speaking about those, there are technically 3 categories main specialisations:
    - Reishi specialist - Quincy,
    - Reiryoku specialist - Hollows, Fullbringers,
    - Reiatsu specialist - Shinigami,
and those in between (like Vizards or Arrancars)... well perhaps also those that are fueled on "reason" (like the train), but how much literal meaning Gin and Aizne meant here is unknown :p and perhaps the SK.

Well, I think by throwing away his heart, he threw away what humanity he had, with using his human mode. He regrew a wolves heart, but I wonder if there might be another stage later on? What got me excited about this chapter was that Renji and Rukia are on there way back. I hope Sajin plays into another part of the story, because the way he is now, I would almost prefer if he died. "Bambi" I wonder what the ladies are going to do with her. I'm waiting on Kenpachi, Ichigo, and Uyru's to showcase there powers.

    @ Zero,

Sajin's Grandpappy is one WEEIRDDooo sick puppy.

More importantly, what is the basis for this Curse thing on the clan. I thought that in Soul Society their is no Voodoo, Just Spirit particles and spirit pressure. Maybe it's some Genetic disease that is triggered by some Uchiha type Emo Jaz, as you inferred, if so it could be reversible.

Personally I see no similarity between Tousen and Sajin. Juha Bach and his Quincies are a clear and present danger, and whether Sajin wants to Avenge Yamamoto Genrussai or not, Bach is still gonna try and kill Sajin and all Shinigamis. In other words, there is a Bloody war going on, and As a Soldier (captain Even) who's oath and duty it is to protect SS, Sajin Should be trying to kill Juha Bach with extreme Prejudice. Tousen on the other hand was trying to punish even people who had nothing to do with the initial offense, and who bore him no ill-will.

While I certainly appreciate that Kubo is exploring Sajins background and origins, I certainly hope that him turning to a wolf (for footed variety) is not the end of the story. If it were the end, the story would be pathetic and unsatisfying.

A last question about this chapter:

Why is Grandpappy Wolf able to talk, and Komamura can't?

Grandpappy is supposedly happy that Komamura has finally behaved with Revenge just as his Clan should, moreover he said that he himself had never relinquished the same Rankor. If Grandpappy also enguaged in revenge just like Komamura, and Granpappy is stuck in a wolf form, then how come grandpappy can talk and Komamura can't?

Maybe he's unconscious? I've been wondering, do you think Renji's Bankai has changed? Also do you think Rukia has a Bankai now?

Renji's Bakai would have most certainly changed, although it probably still materializes in the form of a giant Baboon with a serpent tail. And I'd bet that Rukia probably has a bankai now too.

I am intrigued with Byakuya. I expect that if and when he returns to SS, he should do quite a bit of Quincy damage, he's certainly well motivated for that as it is right now.

About Komamura, I was refering to the comment by his Grandpappy here:-
    Spoiler!

Grandpappy says something about him becoming a silent beast. The Mangastream version says about the same. SO my question still stands, if Grandpappy who relishes and revels in Revenge, never became a silent beast, it seems incongrous that Komamura should.

I like komamkura, and hope that Kubo grants him a loophole.

Well, Komamura is in his animal form now, I wonder if Orihime can actually reverse the changes? Maybe regrow his missing human heart? and break the curse making him Human again? It's a thought, I'm tired tonight. Renji, I hope his bankai condenses, and becomes more of a "Lazer Whip" which would be cool. Rukia, I hope her Bankai is like a Blizzard. Byakuya will return and mess people up. I hope for the story sake there is one or two more deaths. To make the story more realistic.

Well goodnight Purelogic, and lets have more fun when the next chapters arrive.

LOL, I don't want too much realism in my fictional escape. I already hae all I can handle in real life .
