    Laptop problems

Im having a problem getting updates on my laptop. So far it's 5 updates that i need, and its bugging me because it always fails after loading and such. I checked the updates and it says that they are for microsoft programs, word, excel, powerpoint and the others. Then it hit me, is it that they wont stall in because my microsoft office pack is DL? Because the one that came with the laptop, 2007 version, would never work, so i just dl the whole package, is it cause of that?? My model is a HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx.

I hope i get some help.

Also, my friend has a similar laptop as mine, hes having problems with not being able to use the touch buttons ontop of the keyboard. I hope people here can help. His model is a HP Pavilion dv7-1444us.

Is there a possibility, that your friend has installed a new OS to his laptop?
If it is an older version, it could be that this is the problem.
At least this is the first thing that popped into my mind.

As far as it concerns your update problem: I don't really know, but it could be what you described.

i would just call the hp people, technical support

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

How did you DL your microsoft office pack? With a torrent? If you did then it probably won't work to update them, since the update is originally meant for the once that came with your PC or so, it doesn't recognise them.
