Why didn't Madara use his Godmode Susano'o? The mask on Kyuubi's face looks like it but it seems much smaller!?

I always thought there was a Senju-mode (to counter the sharingan) but this one seems Hashirama-only. What's their counter jutsu to sharingan then?

Lastly, the statue reminds me of Asuma's bald-friend-no-jutsu & the battle-flashback was too short.
