Why Do You Read One Piece?

I am not joking when I say I hate this manga.
I have tried over, and over, and over again to try and read just one chapter. But it seems I am just unable to do so.
Why? I really don't know. To me this just seems like a stupid little kids manga with no real driection. (Like BoBoBoBo)
So someone please. Make me see why this manga is so great.
Why do you read One piece? And what makes it such a great manga?

I actually hated this manga with a passion also. Only because of the fans thinks Oda is a freaking God. So I avoided it as much as possible. But since Redpan liked it I decided to give it a try. I started at the arc where Luffy breaks into the jail and from then on I was hooked. I went back and watched the anime to catch up and its been sheer joy. It closely resembles to Dragon Ball as far as the humor. Its really a good manga just the fans make it more than what it should be.

First of all, I seriously doubt whatever someone writes, its gonna blow your mind and suddenly make you start liking it..so like..yeah o_o

Its super-powered pirates, that doesn't take themselves too serious, what else do you need? About the being for kids thing, pretty much eh, its shounen so its kinda is aimed at kids. And not going anywhere? You can't say that unless you read it o_o and really read it, not skimming through a few chapters here and there..

It's creative and original. It certainly has an innocence to it's style of story telling but still manages to have some weight to it's plot and make you feel fairly strong emotions. The illustration is something you need to get used to at first but imo I have grown to enjoy it's originality far more than the others.

The direction of the story is to build the best pirate crew obtain One Piece and become pirate king and their adventures along the way. That's far more direction than other mangas follow.

first i thought it was good, I liked the story but the art was horrible for me....
People will tend to say it's original and unexpected...there are about 3 characters who weren't based on a real person...and it's pretty messy work but the reason why i read it because of zoro and sanji i hate luffy ?So why would you wanna read this? the answer is simple so you can anger every oda-god-liking fan on this site

the fans are a bit crazy for oda but thats no reason not read the manga. give it a try, if you liked dragonball youd like one piece. i like it because of the humor and goofiness. its more of a tv show called 'The Office' type humor

Bleach is not really aimed at kids.Its aimed at teenagers.
Claymore is not aimed at kids I could give you a long list of shounen manga that are not aimed at just little kids.

However back to the point, I want to know why you read One piece. What makes it so great?(And please don't tell me anything about super powered pirates. Cause I think the boys out in Somaila can knock out any so called "Super powered pirates")

LOL your user name contradicts this statement so much. Teenagers are kids too until they reach the age of 18. But thats off topic. I guess what you really need to do is just browse through the One Piece forums and just read some threads and theories. I was also motivated from that.
