its more that he "left him dead" than left him for dead lol.

He was cut in half, Im gonna go with dead on this one, but then again Ive thought a lot of people were dead in the manga who ended up not being dead lol

yeah that true. A good example of this would be grimmjaw. We are not aware as to wether or not he is alive or dead after the fight between ichigo and from this fight, after his defeat Nnoitra attacked him head on and that was the end of it. Is he alive or what is the story.
