I always give money to beggars. I know most people don't as it's seen as "encouraging" them; but I know if I was in that situation having everyone walk past me as if I wasn't there would break my heart... besides, what's 50 peso to me when they can get a meal for that? I've seen kids probably not even 10 years old selling stuff in Patong at 2am which broke my heart. How can their parents make them do that?

And yes, Snowbear, you made perfect sense. I understand what you're trying to say. ^^

But for me, althought I could see how they thought I was very rich (being a foreigner) I seriously survive on a budget of AUD $10 a day. Yes, that includes food and accomodation. So a lot of the time, if they wanted me to pay 100 peso to go 5 minutes on a cyclo when I know it's 20 peso at the most, and I remind them of that, they get pissed off because they assume I naturally can afford 100 peso all the time... despite the fact that's lunch and dinner for me. XD

Nah, I only gave him 3,000 peso... still, that cleaned me out for the rest of the week. I know it was waaaay too much but I was in a hurry to catch a flight and had only just arrived in the country, so I didn't have much room for arguments. >.>
I like to think of it as a learning expierence. :3

i think its pretty understandable that you give them money,having a soft spot and all but i wouldnt give money to men like if i see them as fit to work..its not right imo,that is encouraging..but for kids and elderly its a different thing,i give them whatever food i have in my bag and if i dont have any id buy something for them, never money..

3000?!?! naaaww!you didnt! curse that driver for taking advantage of you..a thousand couldve been big enough i think..if it was only for a few kilometers thatd be like 100-200p..damn..i apologize in behalf of everybody else that is sane in this country.. oh well..you treating that as a learning experience says a lot about you..Ü

A SYDNEY man tried to kick out a train window during his five-hour ordeal trapped in a tunnel.

I feel sorry for the guy, I've been ready to let loose on a train window after being stranded for something like 45 mins let alone 5 hrs, he lets rip a very witty and lucid email though
