666 Satan What happened to the manga communiy??

It's been about two years since I closed my website Manga Hut, and my new one http://otakuhelpers.com is hardly getting any traffic, and Manga Share seems a lot smaller than it once was. My question to you is, what happened to all the great manga/anime fans out there and what are some new and upcoming manga websites. I miss the old manga community. What happened to all the great posters.

Shonen is aimed at young people (and Senien is aimed at perverts.) The kids left nevernever land and they grew up. I would fade away too but I have OCD and I have to know how the big three will end and this site has certain valuable comments and opinions that keep me interested in those manga. Most of the time.

To get traffic and to make this site more alive, attract more young people into the manga scene. There are plenty of Anime fans out there. I doubt they know where those Animes originate from, they are just little kids after all.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

In addittion to Guy's comments, I think the Copyright enforcement deal adversely affected some sites, and as the sites retracted so also did their loyal followers. Does anybody even remember Datebayo and their idiotic practical jokes anymore?

In some cases, Mods and Admin got too serious and in effect drove off some commentors who helped make the scene a little more interesting, perhaps taking away some of the fun by imposing too much structure.

Here at Mangashare, I am trying desperately hard to get our Admin to please do something to try to stop the Spamming, because I really truly believe that some traffic /fans who were tenuous to begin with will definitely not stick around if they sense that the site is becoming something of a JOKE, and a waste of their time.

In the end, we need to do something to attract new/younger readers and once they come, keep them coming. I think it can be done.

I am not perfect and I defy you to prove otherwise

Its a different generation...i grew up with MS n websites like OM back when releases came out on fri(my timezone). Its kinda rare to see anyone below the age of 16 reading manga now though i was much younger when i 1st started...frankly there's not much the manga websites alone can do if the fanbase itself isnt renewing...

Something like that. What can I do to improve the site or attract more viewers?

You could probably try to redesign your website, in my personal opinion the layout is just horrible with massive delays for the most part in certain pages of the website like for example every time you click on a manga series you want to read online.

Heh. I don't remember seeing even one panel of nudity or anything perverted in the Urasawa's mangas that I read — and they were all seinen —, meanwhile popular shonen mangas such as Fairy Tail and Bleach are very questionable at times. Especially Fairy Tail. Fairy Tail is borderline porn.

The manga community has changed, people have changed.

I feel since bandwidth is getting cheaper and faster. More people want the rich experience of Video. Also, everyone was transitioning to Manga Readers.

I feel the manga community was most healthy when the manga sites were exclusively forums, and the downloads were all one-click download hosts. Like Megaupload, SendSpace, etc.
