    Did you give him the disk for the OS? Also he can just call mac and have them send it to him.

    How about update all of your O.S. softwares before you install new softwares.
    It is difficult to you if you will update it one by one.
    Just connect it to the internet then you can go .

    I'm a long-time Mac user, and I can say that... simply, Old Macs just suck.

    Get a job, buy a new one mate.

    I understood you the first time. I know Macs well. But I'm too biased about them to offer real help. So I would just call Mac and pay for an upgrade.
