Everyone in the music business samples someone else. Thats the whole point of royalties. And that doesn't start/stop with just music.

Mos Def said he'd like MF DOOM, Black Thought, Nas and Jay Elektronika on his team amd as for Jay, i don't know yet, he hasnt replied but i'm guessing lil wayne would be on it since he's one of the people screaming best rapper alive.

Highly doubt they will happen this anytime soon.

Jay has his NBA team to rebuild and trying to score Lebron James as he will become a free agent after the season.

Nas is going through with his divorce stuff with Kelis

I believe Kanye is working on his new album.

Its not supposed to happen anytime soon, somewhere around the end of the year or next year.

If this does happen, I wonder if the event will be aired on television?

I bet this will probably end up going ignored. Mos cd hit stores already so this may have helped his promotion a bit.

Its funny how ever like 3 years or so somebody trys to challenge the "King of Rap" title Jay has established but you know what talk is cheap!
Dont talk about it be about it, if you where the King your record sales would show the proof. If the guys complaining where making millions and had double platinum record sales year after year they would be calling themselves the King too.

Funny how that works aint it, but I have to say I really like Mos Def and I like the maturity he showed in making the challenge civil rather than whinning like a baby like NAS.

The King is not a one hit wonder title its about being able to reproduce results over and over. Michael Jordan can claim it in basketball because he has proven it time and time again same goes for Jay in Rap. Jay-Z has something alot of others dont, versatility which equates to depth. The others never change up thier style its always the same thing.

Anyways I know some people have a nastolgic element with some of the older rappers but too me their style is classic but its not up to date. I'm all about progress and evolution, someone who can adapt and has versatility and to me that person is Jay-Z no question.

Of course this is all a matter of personal preferance and thier is no absolute fact involved when it comes to musical choices. So whatever speaks to you lean in to it and rock with it!

One of my favorite Jay-Z lines: (Storm Remix Lenny Kravitz featuring Jay-Z)

    I got the bounce Lenny
    Check me out
    Brooklyn's bad boy back again
Feet hit the ground runnin' and my back's to the wind
Angels on my shoulders, head in the clouds
No, I'm not rappin', I'm just thinkin' real loud
My karma's my armor, my charm and wit
Is like a lethal bomb, I'm warm and shit
And I did bad for good but when you're trapped in the 'hood
You do worse for less, homie earth's a test
    Only God can judge me
    My heart ain't ugly
But the thoughts that I drop is heavy
    Try budge me
Mama loved me, pop left me
Still the homies call me lucky lefty
    I'm flashy and bentley
    Deceptively smart
I make hustlin' heaven and pimpin' an art
Long as I know that I'm blessed
    'Cause I'm loved in depth
I can walk through the water and not get wet
    I'm that fresh
