    Pluto ~ Urasawa Naoki

    Synopsis:
Based off of a story arc from Osamu Tezuka's Tesuwan Atomu, Pluto follows the Europol detective Gesicht as he tries to uncover the mystery behind a string of robot and human deaths. The case becomes much more puzzling when evidence leans toward the murders being the work of a robot, which is something that hasn't happened for 8 years.

    It's complete!

Ater reading Urasawa's masterpieces Monster and 20th Century Boys, I decided that I'd wait patiently on Pluto to be completed or until my patience ran out, before I read it. Thankfully the former occurred before the latter. For those familiar with his aforementioned works, you can expect the same level of excellence, but not as much mystery. He still has us guessing but it's not an emotional roller coaster like Monster and 20th CB. I loved it though.

I've never watched Astro Boy although I know of it (who doesn't really?), and it was very nice how he integrated Tezuka's world into this very adult story. And the more realistic looking Atom (aka Astro Boy) is very cute:

Ahem...anyway, I recommend this manga for anyone looking for a good complete seinen manga to read.

oh, last chapter I read was when Atom woke up and started scribling a formula on the walls, I'd best finish it.

I have enjoyed it alot so far, it's a very engrossing sci-fi.

Edit: Just finished it, I think it could have ended better tbh, the scene with Brau-1589 was a bit to short and I didn't quite understand his motive although he was clearly influenced by Atom.

Also, no Uran in the last chapter
She was my favorite character, good natured and adorable.

Mmhmm...I agree; I'm curious about the exchange between Atom and Brau as well. The ending reminded me of 20th CB...still a few lingering questions that Urasawa decides to leave us with. I'm thinking that this may be his 'signature move'.
