I really can't get why what I consider to be stupid shows garner large audiences and last for Season after season. Shows I really like end prematurely, like Babylon 5 for instance.

All I watch are the auditions to watch terrible people that think they can sing. They should just make a show about that.

They did. It was called WB Superstar and was the only such show I watched. They took the worst people made them feel like they could sing and then spent the season making fun of them. Apparently it was heavily criticised. But it was funny as hell.

Oh yeah, I totally remembered that.

It was hilarious, they were all treated like stars but their singing was terrible. I forgot what happened at the end, but I'd think they'd feel pretty shit. Worse singer in America? Oh god.

What went wrong? It seems to me that too many people voted for one guy and not enough people voted for the other guy. Seems like the object of the show though.

Well the one thing bad about American Idol is that you get good shows on the same time slot cancelled (like what's going to happen to Life, I heard).

Also, there should be no text voting on "talent shows". Get good judges and just let them decide.

Although text voting is deemed necessary because of the way capitalism is designed.

They do that text voting so when America gets it wrong, America can only blame itself. Leaving everything in the judges hands will just lead to them being killed by rabid Idol fans when they screw up.
