    I'm shocked!

So many old-skool hard rockers here, and no-one's including Van Halen?SHAME ON YOU!
Eddie made it sound good with one guitar and his "brown sound"

"Eddie Van Halen was invited by Quincy Jones to play guitar on the song Beat It, from Michael Jackson's 1982 album, "Thriller". Steve Lukather of Toto played the main guitar riff and rhythm, with Eddie playing the solo, which was improvised. Eddie refused the money he was offered for playing on the track."

There's many good bands here, but some "it's good because other people say it is" as well.

Umm...Van Halen is great, but it's not a favorite. Their best songs are when David Lee Roth was with them. Sounds to me like you just found out about them.

Dude... I'm in a family of musicians - I'd probably post a lot of stuff to disprove you, but I won't bother - I'm just gonna say that of course I didn't just hear about them.

And so what if it's old news? If you never heard it, it's new.
    - And what does it matter? I just brought it up to show you that Eddie doesn't care about the money.

And you do realize that this is a thread where we post our favourite bands? Sure, you might disagree, but keep it to yourself.

Hmm this is pretty tough. I guess I'll split it up between new age and classics. No way i'm ranking them though too hard.

    Classics

    Metallica
    Guns N Roses
    ACDC
    RHCP
    Nirvana

    New Age

    Linkin Park
    Rise Against
    Lost Prophets
    Skillet
    Shinedown

As long as everything just keeps on flowing forward, then that's already enough.
    Where there's a will there's a way!
    Spoiler!
