but my question is how ? Pein wasn't with him. Their must have been a connection between Jiraiya and Pein after he trained them. And why those people in Jiraiyas past and not someone else ? I don't get it.

Jiraiya travelled... a lot. Saw a lot of ninja.

All the ninja probably came from a relatively small area. The only two ninja villages I could identify when Jiraiya had his flashback fighting Pain were the Waterfall Country and the Grass Country, which are both on the border between the Fire Country and the Earth Country along with the Rain Country (Nagato's home country).

Also it was destiny (whatever that means).

Sorry, your initial question asked about Jiraiya, not about Pein getting those bodies from Jiraiya's past. Anyway, I assumed that Nagato/Pein had read Jiraiya's book and tracked these bodies down but it turns out Pa Frog had it all the time. So really, no one knows yet. Or it could have been a major, major coincidence since Pein gets his bodies by having ppl bring them in.

The way Kakashi summons his dogs is no different than the way Naruto summons frogs so I would assume that he had signed a contract with the dogs at some point in time.

Giant dogs? Your guess is as good as anyone elses. Although Kiba and Akamaru transformed into a giant dog during the Sasuke retrieval arc.

I don't think Kiba and his clan possess contracts, they're like a K-9 unit, they raise dogs who are loyal to them, they don't summon them.
