yea i know just thought something up i was thinking he could use this for some close ranged combat for example; he is fighting someone like smoker if smoker holds him he can initiate his his ''gear 4th'' allowing him to sort of melt his body into a more rubbery but denser form making him neither liquid or solid somewhere in between he can den reshape his body to his desired needs- i dont know its just an idea XD

not really he cant control rubber besides his body and he can not produce any rubber from his body he is just changing the atomic structure of his body to a super-malleable state, enabling him to stretch, compress, expand, deform, elongate, contract or otherwise reshape his physical form at will. he will still be as hard as a solid but can move his body parts as though day were liquid

but i doubt Oda will want this cause these are Mr. Fantastic's characteristics so he may find another way to be different

Well my idea for a 4th gear would be him, able to change sizes, so minature, normal, giant.. etc.

this thread is getting kinda repetitive i.e. "he will make himself more dense" a lot of these ideas are good though, but some of you are forgetting something

Gear 2nd is activated by pumping his legs making the blood flow faster
& Gear 3rd is activated by blowing air through his bones

whatever, i think gaza-pirate has a really good idea
i don't really have a concept of what i guess gear 4th or whatever next thing he's gonna do is, but i guess it'll have something to do with haki

I was thinking Luffy would take some of Chopper's rumball and transform, but with the intro of haki, I don't think Oda will steer for Gear 4 just yet.

In my opinion, Gear 4th's gonna be Luffy's assimilation of Haki into his style after seeing someone else do it, and properly thinking about how to utilise it. This is how he developed Gear 2nd, why shouldn't this happen again?
