I bet Apachai didn't lose. Yes he recieved more damage but Aagard went for the kill, Apachai only went for the win. Aagard is probably unconcious right now.

Apachai wouldn't kill Agaard, Raymond. That's the entire purpose of Katsujin...defeating your enemy without taking their life.
It's more likely he'll cripple him for life, ending Agaard's ability to continue fighting. However, I think Apachai isn't going to make it.
