well it's not exactly the raw image is it, It's what you cut from that image to use in your sig/wallpaper.

Basically Andrew, Look at Fuzzies sig, the guy in it, Setsuna, that's a render.

Actually, Redfuzzy's sig was made using a stock (the background's just been blurred and burned).

Basically: A render is where an image's original background has been cut out, mostly using the pen tool, leaving it with a transparent background. Whereas a stock is an image which has it's background intact. :p
